Multidisciplinary Approach
The diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases of the pancreas such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, as well as precancerous conditions of the pancreas require the input of physicians across multiple specialties.
Our experts include oncologists to diagnose and treat cancers; geneticists to identify members of patients' families who may be at risk; diagnostic and interventional gastroenterologists to help pinpoint problems and provide immediate relief of acute disorders; surgeons to perform diagnostic and therapeutic operations, and nurse practitioners to help coordinate patients' care.
While every specialist at the Pancreas Center is an individual expert, our multidisciplinary approach creates synergistic benefits for our patients.
The close collaboration among members of the Pancreas Center translates into far better care for patients than what could be provided by physicians working in isolation.
Weekly Pancreas Center Conference
When you make an appointment with one Pancreas Center specialist, you make an appointment with all of our specialists.
Every Thursday morning, the Pancreas Center cross-functional team meets to collaborate on current patient cases.
Salient portions of a patient's history and current symptoms are presented along with past and current imaging studies.
At conference, surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists, genetic experts, and radiologists contribute their experience and expertise to design the best clinical plan for each of our patients. Pancreatic diseases are complex.
This multidisciplinary team approach helps to ensure the best outcome for every patient.
